Good news for chocolate lovers everywhere. Researchers in the UK have discovered that dark chocolate eaten daily may help relieve symptoms associated with chronic fatigue syndrome. The flavinoids in dark chocolate are thought to affect serotonin levels in the brain which in turn affect fatigue levels. The consumption of dark chocolate will not effect a cure for chronic fatigue syndrome but it may help in the management of the symptoms.
I am anaemic and have found in the past that eating dark chocolate regularly aids my fatigue levels. It’s nice to have my own personal findings supported by research!
Ah, chocolate. It’s not just for the blues any more!
