I dropped out for a bit there on the weekend. My eyes are sore from activating nose-to-the-grindstone mode on Adobe In Design for my boss, my son and husband are sick, and above all, I was just a little weary.
But dropping out is hard to do because I miss out on so much. Always. My new writing prompts blog Search Engine Stories has attracted some amazing, original work from very gifted people. I urge you to pop over and read some of the wonderful work being shared there.
But today I have to feature a song Chris has written in response to the most recent prompt – You left me standing in the rain. It is simply fantastic.
Please go over and see what I’m talking about.
Chris, you have a gift, dude. I mean it.
And you were sooooo missed Selma! I was actually wondering if something (bad 😦 ) had happened. Glad that wasn’t the case. Good to see you back in Blogland. Hugs to you dear Selma, G

I just re-read your post. I had missed the part about the illness in the family. Sorry….that’s bad! Hope your son and husband are feeling much better. Hugs again, G

GERALDINE – it is so nice of you to worry about me. I worry about people when they haven’t posted for a while too. Awww, I am really touched. You are such a kind person. Thank you.
MELEAH – every time I have a little break, without fail I miss out on all the good posts. Every.single.time!!!! It’s crazy…..
PAISLEY – he is amazing, isn’t he? I don’t know why he isn’t a recording star. Did you know he plays all the instruments as well? You sum it up completely – that song was a treat.

Dropping out is a double-edged sword. Sometimes you need it to protect you, but man… there’s so much you miss when you’re taking that much-needed break.
It’s always good to see you posting, and I miss you when you’re gone, but I understand… there are times when you just have to sit back and say, “ummmm, yeah…”
Search Engine Fiction totally rocks, by the way. I hope it isn’t too much work for you, because I’m hooked. Totally.

KAREN – I always miss you too. It’s like I don’t walk through the day without the right stride in my step when I miss one of your posts. I am thrilled you like the new blog. I hope to get a collection of all the work published in a few months which would of course mean paying all the writers, etc. I haven’t really got that far yet but I am looking into it and have received some favourable feedback. One editor I know likes the idea of the randomly generated prompts and is already very impressed by the standard of writing. Early days yet but I’ll keep you posted!
