HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

This is what Mother’s Day is all about for me.

Nick and me

My boy. The best thing that ever happened.

We took this photo last year to send to my niece in North Carolina who loves cuddly toys.

Wishing all the Mums out there the loveliest of days.

But wait…

It is a double celebration today.

It is my birthday.

I have decided it is a year where I will be honest with myself and will do all I can to live how I really want to. No more excuses.

I’d like to share with you a literary masterpiece about birthdays.

No writer in the history of writing has topped it before.

No writer has topped it since –

Happy Birthday to you

You’re a hundred and two

You look like a monkey

And you smell like one too

Sheer poetry.

Now I’m off to eat some chocolate cake!

  1. Lorraine’s in the doo-doo again … once more, she’s forgotten that Australians celebrate Mother’s Day on a different day to what we do.

So, we had the adverts telling us to shower the ladies in our lives with chocolate and other goodies back in February … although Mothering Sunday, as it used to be known, ALWAYS falls in Lent.

Not that it discourages all that many ladies who like chocolate! πŸ˜€

  2. I nearly forgot … maybe you’d like the thought on a card Lorraine had, several years ago.

‘Anyone can be a mother, but it takes someone special to be a Mummy’

Hope you had a good day!
